He said that he is generally not a supporter of banning films. But such misinformation can lead to communal issues. The teaser claimed that 32,000 girls were converted and sent to Islamic countries. Satisan said that the state police has no such data. If Central Intelligence has any such data, then release it in public. The makers of the film also did not completely throw light on where the figure of 32,000 came from.
Tamil Nadu journalist BR Aravindakshan wrote a letter to the office of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He demanded to investigate the claims made in the teaser of the film. According to a report in The News Minute, he has also sent a copy of the letter to the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Prasoon Joshi. Demanded that The Kerala Story film should be banned until the makers present proof of their claim.
